Haven't gone far

Wood Carving in RV Park

Coming in on the North side of Estes Park

Estes Park

The weather has been great!  One of the employees at the RV park we were at, suggested taking the Glen Haven road into Estes Park. He said it was a pretty drive and he was right.  There was a couple of hairpin turns at the very top, glad we weren't pulling the rig!

Look Familiar?

In front of New Belgium Brewery
We moved north about 20 miles, to the Fort Collins area.  It's home of Colorado State University and seems to be a nice town.  The New Belgium Brewery is here.  We were there on the day they were closed, so no tours for us.  I had to take a picture of the Vintage Airstream in front of the Brewery. Pretty Cool!!
After a year of employment, you receive a bike at New Belgium Brewery

Horsetooth Reservoir
This area of Colorado really knows how to put in the bicycle routes, they are all over.  I think it's great!!
The news said this was a controlled burn

Horsetooth Reservoir
The weather is suppose to change in the next few days, cooler and wet.  The higher elevations in the mountains are suppose to get up to a foot of snow!  Just so it stays up there and doesn't sneak down here!!   Later-M

On the road again!!

Lake McConaughy Sunset
We are back on the road!   We went through Nebraska and stopped at a few places we haven't been before.  Lake McConaughy, Scottsbluff National Monument, oh yeah and David City's City Park!
When we were at Pipestone National Monument in Pipestone MN., Vel had bought a National Parks stamp book.  Everytime we go to a National Park, Vel can get a cancellation stamp and sticker for her book.  We have a long way to go, to fill the book!!  But, we will enjoy seeing all the places as we get them.

We are now in Colorado and the trees are turning their beautiful fall colors.  The weatherman said that it is the beginning of Peak season for the colors.  Seem like everyday, we see more and more changes! So, Beautiful!!!

We are headed up to Estes Park today, thought we better check it out again before the busy weekend!! We found a good BBQ place there, maybe we will try it again, just to be sure we like it!!  :)  -M

ND and MN

We added North Dakota and Minnesota to our map!
Vel and I went up to North Dakota and Minnesota, at the end of August. We wanted to add those stickers to our map.  It's slowly filling up!
We just hit the southeast corner in North Dakota and then cut over to Minnesota.
Enjoying the afternoon in Walker MN park!

Lake Itasca

We've decided that we really like Minnesota!  It's a beautiful state. Plenty of bike paths, lakes to kayak in and plenty of geocaches! I don't think we would like it in the winter though...too cold!

Walnut Creek MN (where Laura Ingles Wilder once lived)

Pipestone MN (Pipestone National Monument)

We will definitely have to go back sometime, there is so much to see and enjoy!!-M

KC

KC skyline from Hotel room

Mom in front of Hotel

Parkville, MO downtown
A couple of weeks ago, Mom and I went to Kansas City.  I had a seminar to go to, so I could obtain some continuing education credits, to keep my registry updated.  The seminar was at the University of Kansas Med Center. Nice facilities and good seminar!  I booked a room at the Argosy Casino in northwest KC.  Nice rooms and very convenient for restaurants for Mom, as she would be without a car.
We checked out the area and found a little town called Parkville, not to far from the hotel. Nice little touristy town. We ate at Franks Italian Restaurant-Shrimp Scampi Linguine-Very Good!   Then we went north a little ways and found the Zona Rosa Mall. Very Large outdoor Mall! There were lots of people, because they were having a Beerfest, in the commons area. We didn't taste any beer, but we did do a little shopping.
It was so nice that it all (except Med Center) was in Northwest KC area. Very convenient!
Poor Vel had to stay "back at the ranch" with the dogs! I think she was a little jealous!
